Create a Dog Scrapbook Or Memory Album

By Athena Andris

Create a Dog Scrapbook Or Memory Album

Creating a dog scrapbook is not only easy to do - it's a fun craft project for the whole family!

Start by collecting little items that say something about your dog and place in a box or plastic bin.

Some examples:

photos
copy of pedigree papers
puppy teeth
birth record
a piece of fur from his 1st cut
old id tag
paw prints
awards
drawings, etc...

Now get the supplies ready:

glues sticks
glitter
color paper
scissors
shape cutters
color markers
hole puncher
stickers
ribbon
embellishments, etc...

Once you have a good collection of items and supplies - you're ready to begin your scrapbook.

* Buy a scrapbook album. Kits are available in different sizes and are fairly inexpensive. And most of the kits include several of the supplies necessary to begin crafting.
* Sort through photos and group like themes together.

Do you have 6 photos of your dog taking a bath? Great! You can create a bath day page.
How about vacation photos?
Photos of your pup performing a trick?

Placing similar themed photos together help tell a story and make your scrapbook more interesting.

* Use colorful background pages and add funny dog quotes or sayings.
* Add short stories about funny things your dog has done.
* Plan each page design or layout first - then begin gluing.
* Cut photos with different shaped edges or just to include a silhouette.
* Don't over crowd pages. Keep pages easy to read by proper spacing of photos and stories.

Final tips:

1. Don't use original photos. Since you will be cutting pictures to include at times, just silhouettes, or with shape cutters - have copies made first, if you want to preserve your originals.
2. Be creative. There's no right or wrong when it comes to your dog's scrapbook. You decide how you want your album to look.
3. And most importantly have fun.
